Avocet Accounting was founded on a simple premise: to help small businesses succeed.

Our approach combines personal attention with solid financial strategies to achieve success yet keep you comfortable. We invest the time to understand your business and create a personal relationship with each and every client. This, we've discovered, leads to greater success for both of us.

We provide our services for a fixed monthly fee in the hopes that you will call us with questions and include us in business decisions that carry a financial impact. We dont want to see you once a year for taxes we are an outsourced accounting department, here to help your business all year long.

Bill Martin

Bill has over 30 years of experience in business improving operations, integrating technology and developing staff. His career has been spent helping managers, boards of directors and now small business owners analyze financial statements, understand the impact of decisions and choose among alternatives.

A degreed accountant and a licensed attorney, Bill has a strong background in accounting, tax, payroll, law, technology, banking, finance, insurance, operations, purchasing, manufacturing, real estate and non-profits. As the owner of several small businesses over the years he can relate to your concerns and issues.

 

Sue Willard

Sue has been working in accounting for over 15 years, eight of those years spent with Avocet and its predecessor working exclusively with small business clients.  An expert in payroll processing and monthly financial reporting, Sue is a valuable asset to Avocet's small business clients.

Sue works closely with our customers, making sure that monthly financial statements are correct, keeping track of account balances and helping ensure that taxes are paid timely.Her knowledge extends to sales and payroll tax requirements, electronic deposit of tax and payroll payments, and annual reporting requirements. Sue has also worked as an Accounting Manager at a large Colorado manufacturing facility.

 

Mary Inbau

With a degree and strong background in finance, Mary was a perfect fit for Avocet. Mary currently manages the Accounts Payable and Daily Recordkeeping for several customers. She is also responsible for processing payroll for a majority of our customers and completing monthly bookkeeping and accounting duties for her clients.

Mary has worked as a purchasing agent for a large company and and has experience in marketing, merchandising, customer service and travel planning.

 

Rachael Downing

Rachael has several years of experience as a bookkeeper using QuickBooks®. With a background in banking that includes Lead Teller and Proof of Deposit operator experience, she brings a lot to the Avocet team when it comes to finances and banking.

Rachel is experienced in bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and sales tax reporting. She also handles special projects, such as getting new customers up to date.

 

Carol Bell

Carol is an Enrolled Agent, which means that she is a tax professional recognized by the federal government and allowed to represent customers before the IRS. She brings excellent abilities in tax, accounting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping to Avocet Accounting.

Carol works with new customers making sure that they are set up correctly when they first start working with us.
